A few great finds...

Curtis and I spent Monday antiquing & driving around.  We found this beautiful home in Wauchula, FL.  It is being used as office space for an attorney.  Lucky for the people who work there...what a beautiful place to be all day!  The back is absolutely beautiful also.  I had visions of myself living there...sitting out back...watching the kids play!  Then I snapped out of it...this house is miles from much of anything other than the antique shops in Arcadia.  Boredom & antique shops are never a good mix.
$$$$$$$$$
I love the iron detail set into the house &
the arch of the doorway!
On our trip Curtis & I found a few treasures.  Most of the shops were closed, but we still had a fabulous time.  We found a little mason jar, flag pole holder (stamped PAT. APP'D FOR), and beautiful antique bowl.  We also found the chair of my dreams dating back to the 1800's for just a few thousand dollars.  Notice it is not  in the photo?
No, I'm not awaiting delivery :0(

I said "the chair of my dreams."

At least I got to see it & touch it...the detailing...uh...amazing.  I really wanted to sit in it, but I could tell by the look on the shop owner's face that would be out of the question.  He did give us a lot of good history & information.  We had to crack up though... as if we couldn't tell...he made sure we knew this was a "fine" antique store!!!  Well now...

Wednesday was a whole nother experience that is going to require a followup trip.  My first time shopping at Old Time Pottery.  Score..a large white platter, a large white bowl, a very cute bird, & two tin pots with unique handles that will be nestled into my Christmas tree & filled with candy canes.  A gift, you see to the right, from my friend Vikki who was shopping with me.  A too cute cup & saucer that I will be taking to work with me.  Oh...I forgot my little witch's hat for Halloween...so cute.  Next we were off to TJ Max where I found a reproduced blue transfer plate & a sweet little set of birds on their nest.

  3. You found some fun treaures! Some of those people running the antique shops are quirky aren't they?

That is a darling house. So sad that it's an office and it doesn't have little kids running through the yard instead!
