Prayer Request...

My father-n-law is back in the hospital.  He has an aneurysm at one of the entry sites.  Comforting (being sarcastic) to know that he complained about the site over and over again before being discharged from the hospital!

Update...

on my father-n-law...
aka Papa

We have since found out that he had to have five arteries replaced instead of four.  He is feeling really rough right now, but is progressing as expected.  I don't know if I can stress enough; if you are going to the doctor or are in the hospital... have an advocate present.  Some scary things have happened from the time he arrived at the hospital!  We took the kids to see him today.  They did great... until it was time to leave... Courtney totally fell apart.  I still in my heart feel like it was the right thing to do.  If, God forbid, something should happen I would not want to have deprived her of seeing him.  Your prayers have meant so much to him, to me, and to my family!

Please continue to pray for his complete recovery!

Guard your heart...

Courtney & Logan with...
their Papa.

Two months ago he had an ekg & stress test as part of his physical for work... required by law.  His doctor signed off on his forms... giving him a clean bill of health.  In December he saw a cardiologist because he had a single incident of chest pain.  The cardiologist asked him why his doctor signed off on his physical.  Friday he had a heart cath.  Today he had open heart surgery... a quadruple bypass.

Guard your heart...
ask questions
demand clear answers
request copies of your records...
for each visit
get results in writing
get second opinions
question your doctor again
have an advocate present...
at each visit
change your lifestyle
change your eating habits
reduce your stress
save your life!

share the information linked to this post...
save someone you love!

please pray for his recovery!

A project for...

Valentine's!  That's right... Valentine's Day!  The New Year is here and I haven't posted my resolutions yet, but I've completed a major project for the upcoming holiday.  My friends and I have wanted these chair backers from Pottery Barn (photo from Pottery Barn shown below).  They were $19 a piece!  We were able to make 6 of them for just under $40.  The inside flap of the envelope is lined in gingham... too cute!!!
