Guard your heart...

Courtney & Logan with...
their Papa.

Two months ago he had an ekg & stress test as part of his physical for work... required by law.  His doctor signed off on his forms... giving him a clean bill of health.  In December he saw a cardiologist because he had a single incident of chest pain.  The cardiologist asked him why his doctor signed off on his physical.  Friday he had a heart cath.  Today he had open heart surgery... a quadruple bypass.

Guard your heart...
ask questions
demand clear answers
request copies of your records...
for each visit
get results in writing
get second opinions
question your doctor again
have an advocate present...
at each visit
change your lifestyle
change your eating habits
reduce your stress
save your life!

share the information linked to this post...
save someone you love!

please pray for his recovery!

  1. Thant is soooo scary! I totally believe it, though. I told my moms docs for a year that I knew she had cancer and they all told me I was a paranoid overreacting daughter. When her doc finally came back with the pancreatic cancer diagnosis, he wouldn't even look at me. Sometimes I think we put way too much stock in what they tell us. Good thing he had the good sense to go have it checked out! Praying for him!

  3. So glad you stopped by my blog! I can't get over what happened with your father~in~law! You really have to be on top of your own health and keep pressing away for answers. I will say a prayer for him and wish him all the best. My brother~in~law had quintuple bypass surgery at the age of 40...can you imagine???

Your parents have a lake house in South Carolina? Wouldn't happen to be on Lake Murray, would it? Such a beautiful area!

Hope you have a great Tuesday!
